Christchurch Saturday 4th August

Shopping list carefully made out we set off for CC once again. Mum deciding to go on her buggy, with us running behind in order to keep up. 4mph might not sound too fast except when you are trying to keep up with a Grandma who seems to be a little too confidant in her driving skills, or so it appeared to us. Mum explained that sometimes she just would like to go a bit faster, but regrettably when they can go up to 8mph you have to register them and have a licence. Thank God for that! 4 mph is fast enough!

Main item on shopping list was a bottle of whiskey, pringles (onion) and a few other bits and pieces. We seemed to have food at home in order not to starve and Beatrice has been doing us well with her culinary skills in the kitchen.

However we thought lunch out would be a good idea, again! (This is becoming a habit) So it was to the Old George Inn that we made for as Mum had told she had never been in there. (We enjoyed it with Keith and Kate in the winter we were all here) This time it was out in the court yard for us, sitting in the warm sun with some shelter of the umbrella. I continued to trial all of the beers on offer knowing that I only had to walk home and didn't have to fear the breathalyzer.

A bit of a longer walk was called for so we trotted off, chasing Mum, down to the Old Mill and then along the river. Musicians in the bandstand market tents out on the lawns and people just enjoying the music and sunning themselves.
Mum caught some sun and now has a white watch strap mark on her wrist.
A quiet evening was called for, Beatrice read, Mum did her jigsaw and I amused myself doing the blog.
And so to bed after a day when the weather had been great, once again being warm and sunny (I could get use to this)
